I fixed someone's toilet the other day and now she seems to think I am a plumber. She has asked if I can put un an electric shower doing both the wiring and the water side of it. I have actually plumbed in 3 bathrooms successfully, and I am confident I would be able to do it, but are there any legal reason why I shouldn't? Is there something for plumbers similar to the wiring regs exam that you have to pass before doing anything? Or could I be a domestic installer when doing the wiring, and Mr DIY when doing the plumbing?
The girl is a friend of mine not a customer, and she knows that I am a domestic and don't have any plumbing qualifications.

Well, technically you have to comply with the Water Regulations, to be precise, unless you have a WRAS qualification, you can put the pipes in......but you cant run water through them
of course, most people do, the same as they would if they needed to change a luminaire in the bathroom, but I am saying what 'the book' says

Well I think you should get your license as a plumber to be recognized by your friend that you are a professional plumber. With this he will trust you more when it comes to plumbing works. It will be a big deal on your part also.
