Hi again, I have been able to get hold of some 12mm cable which would be ideal for bonding. It's insulating sheath colours are green and yellow, BUT the green is about 2/3 of the area of the sheath, and the yellow is in a 'stripe' running along the length of the cable, at about 1/3 the circumfrence of the sheathing. What I'm saying is that the colours arent 'half and half', with a bias to the green. I can still use this for bonding and CPCs (if i ever needed a CPC that thick) right?

Also, if I am bonding a gas pipe next to a meter that is at about 2.5 meters high, with the pipe running from the floorboards up the wall to the meter, can I run the bonding conductor up the pipe and strap it directly to the pipe, or should I enclose it in mini trunking going up the wall? Can't go in from the ceiling as customer doesn't want his cornicing drilled, and he is not keen on having mini trunking so I'm guessing he wouldn't be happy having his wall chased out! God knows why he thinks a green and yellow cable strapped to a pipe looks better than mini trunking, I think he is planning on painting the cable when I'm gone.

Green/yellow earth cable colouring should be a 70% - 30% split in favour of green, so your cable will be fine.
If your using the job for an assessment with NICEIC dont cable tie meb to pipework you'll get picked up on it.
Why go up the pipe to the meter? put the bond clamp at floor level (not under the floor).

Ah cool - weird that the small length of 16mm I picked up from a reputable supplier was half and half green to yellow. Odd.

At ground level it's more than 600mm from the meter which the regs seem to want. It's for my elecsa assessment so I'd prefer to be spot on.

Main Earth Bonding maybe? Main Equipotential Bonder? I think I'm getting the gist, anyway.

Sure thing & some other abreviations used as well (just for those that might not know)

MEB = Main Equipotential Bond
MEC = Main Earth Conductor
MET = Main Earth Terminal
CPC = Circuit Protective Conductor
