Broken cable reel

Hallo all.

I am new to this forum and would like to get some feed back on a problem that I and my colleague have come across.



At times we have both experienced the situation where the cardboard flange on a new reel of cable comes away from the central spigot. This makes the reel virtually un-useable as the cable tends to fall off the end and becomes tangled.



We have patented and developed a new product which will remedy this problem and enable the electrician to continue to use the damaged reel of cable.



It would be very useful to hear back from anyone who has also experienced this problem and what, if anything, you do when it happens?

Usually end up binning a whole load of tangled mess!!!

if you have a product that does what you say it should be a hit. its very anoying when the end of the reel falls off especially if its a full reel! good luck with it. only thing you can do when end comes of is be patient with it and take it off the coil by hand and run it out with ur hands. only downside is that if you work for a company you would probably bin it and get a tidy coil so ur customers would be the money concious self employed.

a reel of cable has 2 round carboard ends and sometimes 1 of the ends comes off and u cant un-reel the cable without getting in a mess!

When the end falls off the reel I would normally shout and then put the whole tangled mess in my boot and get a fresh one from the stores. So if anyone develops a product that would enable me to continue to use the damaged reel then please bare in mind how this will impact my xmas weigh in fund.
