Hi all,
Im hoping someone might be able to help me out and give me a bit of advice please..
Im really keen to become a sparky, Ive found a course (new career skills) who claim they can train anyone who hasnt even picked up a screwdriver (me.. kind of) to become a fully qualified electrician..
The course is home learning with practical assessment weeks (4 x 100 hours of reading plus 5 day practicals) and the qualification at the end will be C&G2381 + C&G2377 also including BS7671. average is 6 months to a year and the cost is £5995 all in..
So couple of questions....
1) Does anyone have experience of new career skills?
2) What does 2381 mean ? is this 16th edition?
3) Are the above qualifications good enough to know what Im doing?!
4) Is the course good value? You have access to tutors, practical assessments etc so its not just 'heres a book' you actually have help available.

Any advice would be really appreciated,
Thank you very much in advance.. :D
Paul.

Hi
Nice to hear you want to get into the game. Personally I would try to find a firm who run apprenticeship schemes as this would save you 6 grand for a start. There is nothing like having hands on experience with the old boys who know the tricks of the trade, there are a few still out there who like to pass on their experience. I know things have changed since I done my apprenticeship but I am sure there is some scheme you will be able to get on and save yourself some dough. All the best in your search.
