Hi

I cant say i have first hand experiance with teh fluke multifunction testers but from memory a few friends have had niggles with them (but i guess thats true for everything) a couple of things they mentioned were that you had to null the test leads everytime you put them in and that you had to use the actual fluke leads. But again as i say i dont have experiance with them and they may have fixed those higgles on newer models but you may want to look into those comments before purchasing anything.

1561 is a good tester so if the 1562 is 17th editions should be ok..
Just use batteries too much

The Fluke 1650 series have recently been updated to the 1650 "B" series in line iwth the 17th ed. I'm not a fan of the fluke myself, I have a megger MFT and am really happy with it.

I use fluke testers myself and they have never let me down. Also used meggars a fair bit very easy to use

hi,
The fluke 1650 series and the megger 1550 sries are very much the same in a deifferent box. They both have their niggles like all test equipmentit all goes down to personal preference. Both top of range boxes have software to down load to pc and allegedly place in correct boxes on forms but in order to do this you have to rearrange the way you test .. not the best. They are both good machines otherwise. Megger and Fluke need to take a leaf out of Metrels book as far as software goes. I have used several different makes as I am an electrical trainer. I personnaly use niether as I favour my HT Italia as it does more than either the Fluke or the Megger and has Phase rotation along with earth electrode tester built in, but that is my preference. Good luck in your choice.
