Hello
I was an electrician for 17 years, then changed to carpentry... for various reasons.
I am building a large garden studio, that will require wiring.
My question is whether there is any way of me carrying out the wiring to current regulations, but getting the building inspector (or another spark) to sign it off regarding Part P compliance.
I know that most sparkys ain't going to want to put their name to someone else work, so I was hoping the building inspector could provide this service. However, they just don't seem to want to answer any emails regarding this subject.
Obviously it is not worth me obtaining Part P just for this project (plus I have no inspectable recent electrical installations anyway).
Just seems stupid to get a sparky in.... when there is already one there!
Thanks for your time
Steve
