Hi people,

I have completed 3 years at college and currently hold my level 1 and 2, technical cert 3 and 16th edition regs.

I want to start working for myself and i am competent in what im doing in a domestic premises but i just want a straight answer.

if i do the part p domestic installers course does this mean i can do all work in a domestic premises including fuse boards and work in gardens?

replies would be much apreciated.

You have to register with a Competent Persons Scheme, such as NICEIC, NAPIT, SELECT, BSI, etc.
The Part P domestic installers course, would just be something you would use to show whichever scheme you joined that you are qualified/competent.
I imagine that all of them would want you to have the 17th.

The course trains you in appropriate safety and legal standards. It enables you to completely install your domestic electrical work, in thorough compliance with Building Regulations Part P. After gaining this certificate with Trade Skills 4U, you become eligible to register as a competent domestic electrical installer.

So the answer to your query is, YES! You can start off with what you have thought. Good Luck!

Ummm I'm not to sure tbh..... I am an approved contractor and I thought that the only thing the part p course allows you to do is sing off bath rooms and kitchens!!! I don't think u can change a CU or out door lighting.... I havnt looked it up but thaw what I thought!!!!

A part p installer is not an electrician
