Hi,

Hope someone can help.

When we have an unscheduled power failure we have to switch off all floor sockets in the building before we can power back on otherwise the fuses continue to keep tripping

have you come acroos anything like this, i have been told it may be something to do with the computers trying to power on at the same time, but i have never seen or heard of this before.

thanks,

NRG

NRG,
I have come accross this often. although the circuit may not be overloaded during normal use, on power up the total draw (in amps) may overload the circuit protective device. The cheapest method to rectify this would be to make sure things are unplugged before you reset the breakers. Or you could try replacing the breakers with "C" types.
"C" types are motor rated and can handle higher start up currents.
Nik.

Thanks Nik,

After further investigation we found out it was indeed the fuse trips which needed replacing.

Cheers,
