Hi All,
I am into Hi-Fi and have found that a switchless mains socket sounds better than switched - less resistance I suppose.
The individual Hi-Fi components are all connected to a single extension block which is in turn connected to a mains socket. The next thing I would like to try is wiring the extension block directly into an unfused spur. Is this legal? What are the considerations I need to bare in mind - i.e. does the lead of the extension block need to be a special type? Each individual component of the stereo has it's own fuse in its mains cable and also an inbuilt fuse in the units themselves, so that's why I'm thinking an unfused spur would be OK. I know in mainland Europe they don't use so many fuses as here in the UK.
