hi guys i have been inspecting and testing for a couple of months now and seem to be getting the hang of it.
i was wondering what happens if i fail a periodic, i write on it "unsatisfactory" and sign it, and write down what it has failed on, then pass it to the customer.

what happens next?

if i carry out the remedial work such as a fews board change do i hav to supply them with a electrician cert and can i use the original test results as i havnt altered any of the wiring?

a million questions i know but these are just a few loose end i need to tie up.

thanx guys

What happens next is this, you carry out the remedials you then have to provide an electrical installation certificate which indicates all results that you have found after installation. Can you use the old figures? that depends on how sure you are that they are accurate. Your signing that its been tested and it safe to re-energise. Me. I would not use the old figures, why? a few reasons how do I know I have not mixed a connection, is my new RCD going to trip at the same speed as the old one, have I caught any cables with a screw , the list goes on. Good luck with your testing. Regards Jimbo
