RCD high pitched whistling

I have a stand alone RCD on a 32A hot tub supply. It is producing a high pitched whistle. When I press the Test button it disappears, but after reactivation it again starts to whistle after a few minutes. Anyone come across this problem? Faulty RCD unit?
