I am Just finishing ( sucsessfully I hope!) 2330 level 3 and looking to go onto 2391, then part P and concentrate on domestic work.

Should I be looking to do 2381 as well? (before 2391 and part P)

Getting mixed unsure reactions to this at mo.As, unlike its predecessor, of 2360, 2330 is 16th ed complient, will level three be considered sufficent for employers or should i get 2381 as well? I know this is a little of a "how longs a bit of string" question, but, as im not sure whether to

A) ignore 2381 and wait for 17th ed equivalent test.or

B)Do both 2381 and next 17th equiv or

C) other!
I would really appreciate anyviews on this. Thanks alot.

Hi Ian B,

I think it might be a good time to take your 16th edition city & guilds 2381. Lots of people are waiting for the 17th edition but I think the qualification is still going to be the same (2381 wiring regulations) ! Youll still have your 2381 and then it's a simple update to the 17th edition when it arrives and therell be no rush for you to do it.
hope this helps

Ian b , brightspark has given you some good advice but do not confuse the 2391 with anything else, I have said it before, give me time and I will get next doors cat through the 2381 but the 2391 is an all together different thing. A prerequisite of the 2391 is that you have the 2381 so you can see the way it goes. The only qualification required for the dreaded Part P is 2381 so go from there, I personally would not preempt the 17th just wait till it gets here. Regards Jimbo

Hi Jimbo, I doubt if you would be able to pass next door`s cat through 2381...........you being a mouse..........it will pass you through its guts.........

And as far as that litle saying at the end of your messages: "never argue with an idiot................", may I argue with you?.............
