for a long time now, i have said that in london there is a masive problem with rats.i have spoke to are local mp about it, as they are causing so much trouble with the wiring.i have had 7 callouts due to rodents, one nearly caused a fire,in a family home thats in 3 months i have had 7 callouts because of rodents.when they bite through the live its fine they die, but when they break just the insulation then there,s the problem. the last one i done he had bitten thru the insulation and almost the copper but it was just left touching. ie cooker cable 6mm . it run from under the cuboard floor to the kitchen, were there was a loose board. so when everyone walked on the board the cooker went off. si ilifted the board and found the rat dead, and the cable just about connecting. i traced it back to the fusebox, and replaced it. then i found burninig marks by the consumer unit, and lighting, and socket cables, chewed. i showed the customer, and told them what needed to be done.as well as calling rentokil. but this problem will not go away till the local councils, do somethink about it.many years ago they used to put gas bombs down the sewers to control rodents, or poision. because the rats i am talking about are sewer rats like kittens, teeth like rabbits. the more they dig up the roads, the more they move the rats into are homes. and everyone knows were ever you go. there is allways road works. if nothink id done to control them then a fire will happen.
