My neighbour has self built a small extension incorporating a final ring and lighting circuits. He has asked me to test and inspect the building and issue him with a certificate. The CU he has connected to in the main house is only 16th edition and the lights are not RCD covered, so I will arrange for an RCBO to be fitted. But what type of certificate can I issue, given that it is not my installtion but just tests upon his own work. A bit cheeky I know and I wont be doing anything on the cheap. Can I only issue a PIR cert?
