Hi to all. :)
Firstly, I am not an electrician.
But I need some help. I have recently purchased a older house and am having it rewired.
It was built in 1960 and the wiring is original 8O ......plug sockets made of what looks like bakelite etc. 8O 8O
As part of the rewire we want to have the hob, oven washing machine, dishwasher etc wired up so that they are connected to a hidden socket with a remote switch panel on the wall above the worktop.
We recently moved from a house where there was a such a set-up. The wall socket looked similar to an ordinary light switch with the appliance names actually on the socket, not sticky tape.
The under worktop connection had a cover similar to the plate they cover the entry point with when you get Sky fitted.
Can someone please tell me where I can get these sockets. I don't really want the big red type switch spoliing my lovely new kitchen.
The only socket that we want visilbe are the doubles to plug things like a kettle and toaster into.
My mate who is doing the rewire has given me a list of the stuff to get for the job, but he is on holday for a week, so I can't ask him what they are and I would like to have all the stuff ready for him returning......
Cheers for any help.... ;)
