hi all, this is my first post on here and i have a few questions to pick your brains with.
firstly my background is 10 years industrial/commercial electrics within the retail industry, 16th soon to be 17th edition 2360 elec install. refridge/aircon.

basicly my question is my friends is having an extension on there house and at the same time are going to be splitting it into two and having half each.

1 what are the requirements for installing a new consumer unit into the new half of the house, ie max cable run for the tails/earthing etc.

2. would a new meeter have to be put in( bearing in mind they are brothers who are sharing so im sure they would split the utilities bills) but as for resale purposes and if the properties were to be sold as 2 they would need individual services. (not 100% sure on there intentions on that side of things as yet)
but ultimatly they will require separate consumer boards.

thanks in advance :)
