hi ya all,

i am leaving the forces after 14 yrs and trying to get back into the sparky trade as before i joined, i am currently studying for the 2381 and 2391, i have read all the topics on the forum about the courses and exams and most of you are very knowledgeable on the subjects. i have some past papers on the 2391 from this year and although i do not start my course until oct i am trying to get as much studying in as possible as everyone says the same about the 2391 course (very hard). With the 2381 i think i will go with the simulator but as for the 2391 there are questions i cannot answer and cannot find in the book (GN3/BS7671), so if any of you could help with some of the questions then i would gladly email you some and if you had the time help me out on some, your help is greatly appreciated. i know it is alot to ask but if you do not ask you do not get.
thanks everyone

Hi for 2381 you can take the BS7671 book and use it in the exam as 2381 is all about being able to look things up and find answers bear in mind that with the launch of the 17th edition in January it will become 2382 and there is an update version of the course for those who have 2380 2381 as for 2391 the exam is a closed book exam I studied old exam papers along with guidence note 3 and BS 7671 book PART 7 I think you will find the niceic inspection and testing and periodic reporting dvds very helpful please contact me with any questions

hi guys,

sorry not replied as of yet with any questions relating to 2391. i am studying the 2381 first to get it out of the way as it is the easiest one to do, the simulator is the business, fills you full of confidence. with the 2391, i took your advise and managed to collect loads of past papers together and when i dare to start looking at them i will give you a tinkle.

thanks again, trust me i will be in touch

hi ya trick,

the army booked me on these courses to get me back into civvie street and it was the 2381, 2391 and the part p course, part p is a day long for myself which is (been advised by plenty of people) is a must, you then have to be with an awarding body (NICEIC). when you talk to people about the part P you can get varied answers to why and what it is, as i am not taking this Qual till jan i have placed it on the back burner for now and concentrating on the 2391.
also, i received my joining instructions for the courses today and the paperwork for the part p also consists of more paperwork for a course for H&S and the JIB, which i am told that i have to have if i require to work on construction sites, cannot remember the name of it but it something like electechnical....will get back to you on that.

hope i have been of some help, or i have just bored you to death, one of the two.

cheers
cavester
