Hi all, have got to quote up a job which comprises of 6 drive over light recessed in block paved driveway. I'm planning on running 2.5 swa. Each light comes with 1.5m rubber cable to wich I assume has to be terminated in a ip68 junction box. Does the jb have to be accessable or can I bury it? The lights are well spaced out and with only 1.5m cable I can see me having to install a few jb. I appreciate any advice on this matter as it's my first time installing outside lighting in driveways

well regardless of it being lights from a JB under a driveway, or lights from a JB under the floor boards, 513.1 and 526.3 must still be complied with, in that connections/joints must be accessible for inspection, maintenance etc
now we all know about exceptions made for joints made by soldering, compression tool etc, but 526.3 (i) is worth bearing in mind "except for a joint designed to be buried in the ground"
there are JB's out there designed for this purpose (often resin filled) - might be worth looking at

Yeah I have seen them. I could get away with a surface mounted jb for 3 of the lights but the other 3 will have to be burried as there is no place I can mount them. Are there lights out there with loop in loop out connections?
