Hi Guys....i am new here...can i just say what a refreshing change this place is compared to a few boards i have seen in my search fo knowledge..talk about unfriendly where as here it seems you are willing to help people without judging them. :)

well alittle history before i ask my question..i left school at sixteen and started an electrical apprenticship...i got as far as my 236 pt1 then for personal reasons i had to give up.I am now 35.

I want to retrain and am considering booking on the distance learning course from Harlow college for the 2330 i 1 and 2.

Now i gather with this there is not much practical experiance...will i still be able to pass the exams...i could set up a little workshop at home and practise the practical there.Any advise really guys...i cant reallly afford to take one of the£4000.00 courses that give you the workshop time...is it something that i could do at home with a good reference book?

I have done work around my house like wall lights etc so i do remember the basics.I have also got c&g pat testing.

Any advice greatly received. :D
