can anyone shed some light/power?
have run 50metres of 6mm 2 core SWA to outside cabin from main consumer unit in house via a 40Amp MCB..inside the cabin it terminates on a crabtree starbreaker 63A 30mA RCCB with 2 MCB's already installed ( 32A and 6A) was advised not to extend the earth from the house ,hence used 2 core trying to save pennies I suppose, but to sink an earth rod which I have done ,this earth is connected to the cabin consumer unit.......problem is ........as soon as I plug anything in the RCCB not the MCB activates in the cabin ....disconnected all sockets one by one in cabin still occurs..tried taking readings with multimeter but couldn't see any contacts on new cable ..so moved new 63A consumer unit to main house and and connected it there and same thing happened rccb tripped.....tried a B&Q plug-in 13A 30ma RCD connected to the house consumer unit (via that 40A MCB) and didn't trip so am quite confused ...I know its a long message and i'm not an electrician but as a 50 year D-I-Yer I was hoping this was a job I could tackle...any ideas anyone?
