Can anyone advise as to what paperwork is required to self certify the installation of for example a supply for an intruder alarm in a factory, creating a new circuit ,6amp radial to a fused spur unit. I am aware that because a new circuit is created it would not be covered by a minor works cert . Therefore assuming the existing electrical installation cert is "lost" would a electrical installation cert be required for the whole factory or just a schedule of test results for my new circuit only.

Hi
A standard electrical installation certificate is required as you are installing a new circuit you need to test every part of the installation that the new circuit affects right back to the supply and record results for this part of the system any defects would have to be corrected and the main equipotential bonding conductors will have to be installed if they are missing any other circuits not affected by your new circuit you do not have to test just record any defects on other circuits that you can see in the comments box if you come accross any immediate dangers for example an electric shock risk make it safe and issue a danger notice
