wondering canny anyone help me..im currently doing a HNC in building services...i travel far to attend my course...i couldnt attend this month with the weather so missed some important classes...i have a few questions on lighting applications and would be grateful for some help on working them out..
Q1. a luminaire giving a luminous of 10,000 cds in all directions is fixed level with the bottom of a wall 8m square and 6m away from the wall giving maximum illumination at the centre of the bottom edge.
Calculate the illumination:
(a) At the centre of the bottom edge
(b) at the centre of the top edge
(c) at one of the top corners
Q2.(a) a floodlight is mounted at 4m on a wall. the lighting level required directly below the fitting and 5m out from the wall is 100lux. calculate the intensity of the lamp required to provide this level of light.
(b) what would the intensity of the lamp have to be to provide a lighting level of 35 lux at a distance of 3m to the right of the spot calculated in (a)
as i havent done these calculations before i would be grateful for any help.
