Older returnee begs advice
Hi Chaps
I have been self employed over 30 yrs in the print industry - came to a sad end in the recession last year - been in a dead end job for a year now and all the people who said you'll find it hard working for someone else... well you were right (b*st*rds!)
Prior to my print years I was an trainee sparks and am now debating whether to do a home study course and get the quals. Don't laugh but I'm 51 and still pretty fit (the job I do now is pretty heavy work in engineering).
Suppose I'm here after any advice/push really on going it alone. On the plus side I suppose I don't need to earn mega bucks as I've grown up kids - no morgage and a lovely hard working missus - what do you think lads - I've kept me hand in with work on my own house, fitted a bathroom, kitchen etc.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

we get lots of pople like yourselves through our training centre, not only doing electrical courses, but alsomore of the multi-skills type of stuff, you know- bit of kitchen fiiting, plastering, tiling, bathroom fitting etc
i suppose the first question is - what is your ultimate goal?

Cheers CS - Ultimate Goal? I suppose job satisfaction - and to make enought to get by on.
I enjoy working with my hands and doing a good job for people. I certainly would want to be as qualified as I could be.
