Flood = No power to ring
Hi all
I have a scenario where a flat has had a leak, and the ring main trips (old wylex unit with resettable)
I have tested every socket, checked and changed over resettable type "B" Mcb's, unplugged and Pat tested all appliances with no luck on finding fault
Now my train of thought is there is water laying somewhere underfloor, where a JB is situated and this is causing the problem .
My issue is I need to install a temp supply from the consumer unit, so that I can run two dehumidifiers and two air blowers continually for around 3 weeks , I have brought two 13a double rcd protected sockets and will use 4mm twin and earth
what is the best way to wire it in to the consumer unit ?
I have removed rcd to faulty circuit
the lighting circuit works ok and so does the (30 or 40A MCB cant remember which) for oven/shower working ok, so the problem seems to be isolated to the ring main only.
any advice will be appreciated

Re: Flood = No power to ring
you could be right about water in j/b,s under floors , i myself have had this problem. you either find it, or let it dry out. but you have said, your consumer unit is a old one, well nows your chance to replace it, and then install a temp surrply. that you need.
