    Default bad paying customers

As an niceic domestic installer hase anyone had to leave a job before finishing becuase of a disagreement with the customer. I am in a situation where the customer keeps adding extras changing there mind and generally wasting my time and refusing to pay more. I want to cut my losses and leave it un finished where do i stand in this predicament?

tricky situation mate. i would say it would atleast have to be left as you found it (if safe)? could you agree to finish a basic rewire and leave it at that?

I feel your pain. Unfortunately you have a contractual obligation as you have started the works. NICEIC will up hold a complaint as this would not be a financial matter and one of workmanship.
When I’ve had customer issues (Being polite here!) I have always found it a good idea to sit down with them and the quote / estimate and go through it item by item and explain what each one is and what it evolves. A civilised discussion over a cuppa sometimes quells a situation. Its never a good idea to get your back up and if you walk off the job your are entitled to nothing and may if it went to court end up having to pay for someone else to complete the works. By carrying on and competing works for what you have quoted you are completing your contractual obligation. Now if they decide not to pay at the end if it you then have the opportunity to small claims court them.
Not the best result and may be not what you wanted to hear but the ball is in the customer court every time. Sorry.
