    Default earth bond test problems

    I have a fluke 6500 pat tester, when completing an earth bond test on an extention cable it always fails the test.I have corrected the length and cross section size of the cable but it always fails the test. can anyone help as it only fails on extention leads and not appliances.

    What readings are you getting and how long is the cable?

    extension leads often fail, if you have corrected for the cable size & lenght, its likley to be the earth pin on the socket.
