House Extention
Hi All
Having an extention carried at side of house. Electrician is going to wire the new sockets and lights in extention to an existing socket and light. My existing fuse box is the type were you pull out the fuse (not trip switch system). Is this ok and in line with the regulations?
Regards

Re: House Extention
Yes, provided that the new points comply with tests for Zs for the type and rating of the associated fuses, and you are given a test certificate. These are the minimum requirements for your peace of mind.
Cheers

Re: House Extention
the above is not even close to being correct.
The electrician wont be able to use any of existing circuits if they are protected by rewirable fuses. For the past few years any new cables concealed in walls <50mm deep must be protected by a RCD and sockets outlets should be protected by RCD too, the electrician will probably install a small RCD protected consumers unit to service new extension.
