hi there
hi im a new member,am looking to go in to the electrial industry and leave my current job,i am doing my 1st year level 2 2330
part time evening class,i am looking to get some equipment throughout my course,as in proving unit,multimeter etc, can anyone advise me on this, what to get to do continuity and resistance testing etc and where is best place to buy them.

Welcome to the forums.
Fluke or Megger are probably the best known makes of test instruments, try googling them there's loads of places that sell online.
