    Default Garden Lights

I've been asked to wire in a garden lighting display for a customer, he has bought the lights and placed them where he wants them. However, when I have come to wire them together, they are all attached to 'indoor use only' 240v - 12v transformer plugs.

I have wired kitchen unit lights with step down transformers, and want to know if there is a similar system for external use. I.E. with the appropriate IP rating so that I can either remove the individual transformers and link them all to a single unit, or an enclosed weatherproof multi socket large enough to house transformer plugs.

    Thanks.

you need an ip 65 led driver available from most electrical wholesalers and an appropriate connection box.

If the manufacturers instructions say they are for indoor use only, they should not be used outside.

Some of the fitted lights that are available to you from Sparks Direct their choice of wall lights and walkover/step lights. Also, you can have spike lights scattered around the garden, which is often situated in the flowerbeds, to give your whole garden a beautiful glow. There are also rope lights, flood lights and ceiling lighting, so basically there is a light for every area of your garden.

Think it'd be safer and easier to get him to buy some good quality outdoor ones
