Lighting question????
Hello all,
I've been asked to put 3 spotlights into a conservatory ridge capping, from what I can make out there's 2 double sockets that are spurred off the ring final in the living room which are protected by a 13amp rcd fcu. Is it ok to spur a 5amp switched fcu off the second socket to supply the lights and use the fcu as the switch for them? Any advice would be really helpful

Re: Lighting question????
hi, as long as the sockets in the conservatory are protected by a fused connection unit then you can add off these as all sockets will be protected by the 13a fuse. you will just need to derate the fused spur used for the switch to a 5a or 3a as you mentioned.

Re: Lighting question????
Small spotlights are typically used to provide more focused lighting or accent lighting. They are widely used in both of these ways commercially and domestically.LED spotlights don't rely upon heated filaments or gas combinations to produce their electroluminescence, and they don't incorporate the use of mercury like Compact Fluorescent Lamps.
