    HiAll,

    I'm burrying armoured cable outside under the ground, and was wondering how much sand I need to put on top?

    About as much again as you put beneath the cable.
    You should then place a layer higher up in the trence, or use warning tape or tiles, so that anyone digging will be wrned that there are services below.
