faulty fluorescent unit
Hi
I have an old 8 foot fluorescent fitting in the garage with 2 x100 watt tubes. One of the tubes refuses to function. I have replaced the tube, replaced the starters and swapped them around, all of which work in the other side.
Internally there are 2 silver cylinders (are these "chokes"?) and 3 rectangular boxes.
Any idea what's wrong, is there a method of testing the components? I can't seem to find a source for a new fitting with 200 watts.
Many thanks.

Re: faulty fluorescent unit
the rectangle unitsare ballasts. this is probably u/s i would reccomend replacing the fitting with 2 twin 4 foots or a twin 6 foot as you will have a job geting spares as they dont make 8foots anymore
