Default new consumer unit, tumble dryer trips out

Hi all, i have had an upgrade of a new rcd consumer unit.
When electrians finished fitting the board and doing all the test, they showed me that the tumble dryer was tripping, althou it was working fine before they changed the board.
The freezer is on the same double outlet and that was fine.
So i ddecided to investigate, the wire was slightly burnt on the rear of socket, this is an extension lead, so i decided to look at the cable and noticed it was 1.25mm, so changed it to a 1.5mm, powered up the dryer, tripped.
Then i inspected the plug, and althou the plug is a moulded type, it was showing signs of melting, so changed this.
Turned on, lights on, pressed start, few turns of the drum, and it tripped.
Tried all diffferent sockets, without extension lead, and its tripping.
Do you think its the heating element on its way out, as the neww board is much more sensitive and detected this , were the old rcd board didn,t , hence burn,t wire, plugs etc.

can you tell us what tripped was it the rcd or an mcb?
im guessing maybe a earth leakage buildup or the dryer start up pulling more.
also what rating is your dryer are you sure 1.5 is the rite size? also what mcb?
