Re: Periodic Inspection
Hi there,
A Periodic Inspection is an inspection on the condition of an existing electrical installation, to identify any deficiencies against the national safety standard for electrical installations.
Thanks

Re: Periodic Inspection
Every installation should be inspected periodically to ascertain whether it is safe for continued use.
The frequency of inspections is initially determined upon the use the installation is to be put to, and then subsequently by deteriation discovered during inspections.
Depending upon use, the time between inspections can vary between One year and Ten years, or when there is a change of occupancy.
If the use that an installation is put to changes, then the frequency of inspections will change accordingly.
The reports are ariously refered to as safety reports, Landlord certificate or even safety certificates.
There has been a recent change in the Regulations, and the official term has changed from Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) to Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), although the inspection is still referred to as a Periodic Inspection.
