Past Papers
Hello,
New to this forum!
I am revising for a 2381 exam but am really struggling.
It would help if I could know what kind of questions to expect.
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on past questions, maybe some papers?
Cheers!I make More Money with THIS than by

Re: Past Papers
Hi Brightspark,
Dont bother, the 2381 has been an online exam for quite some time now and most past papers are out of date. I'd get the 2381 exam simulator.
I thought I new enough but got the simulatorr from electacourse 3 days before my exam and the simulator told me i'd fail with 64% ! I frantically revised for 2 days and got to 76% on the simulator. I passed the actual exam with 78%
Sorry I cant help with past papers but I really dont think theyd be of much help anyway.
cheers

Re: Past Papers
Thanks a lot.
I have looked at the courses online and they look really good.
I am thinking about getting the simulator but I haven't bought anything on line before and am a bit wary.
Its good to know from somebody whos bought it though.
Will let you know how I get on.I make More Money with THIS than by

Re: Past Papers
Sorry to disagree with the other replies but I found Past Papers the most useful tool to pass 2381 and 2391. I have got a few for both courses with answers, but not in electronic form. It doesn`t matter you`ll probably won`t get all those questions in the exam itself but you`ll get a good percentage if you read enough past papers.
It also puts you in the mind of what the examiners ask because sometimes it is difficult to know what the examiner is asking in the question and one can answer in an ambiguous manner.
2381 is quite easy because it is a multiple choice question paper and one can guess what the answer is. It is like "Who wants to be a millionaire", one has to eliminate the answers that don`t make sense.
The best book I found to prepare oneself for those exams is NICEIC Publication, "Domestic Installation Guide", @ £11 from Brown Books in Amazone.
good luck

Re: Past Papers
I have bought the simulator from electacourse online and they sent it to me no problems so that's a relief to me not having bought stuff before.
Talking to my mate last night whos recently sat the exam. He said the hardest part for him was not so much the questions but using the computer ina an exam situation against the clock.
I thought the best thing to do was buy the simlator as he said past papers can be out of date and the exam is all done online. I showed him the simulator and he said its nearly identical to the exam he sat.
Going to try it out tonight and see how I do!

Re: Past Papers
Hi Mani,
Sorry, the simulator's protected, you can only run iton one computr and you have to activate it online. Its really good though, surprising how hard it is with the clock ticking away as you are working through the questions. I've had my mate around and he's had one go and got 68%so he needs to revise a bit more!

Re: Past Papers
Hi,
I did the exam in January and found past papers very useful easily available on ebay, the exam is a bit intimidating because it s online and you re very aware of the clock counting down however most of the questions had come up in the previous exams from what i could see, and most passed, the good thing is you get a result before you leave the exam centre
