Mobile Workbench Power
Hi Everyone! Hope someone can help me out here?
I have a client who has a mobile workbench that can be pushed around the room on castors, the workbench is about 1.5m X 3m. He wishes to have 8 x single sockets installed on this bench which would be fed from a flex cable with a standard 13A plugtop that can be plugged into the nearest 32A ringmain socket. The ringmain sockets are all protected by 30mA RCD or RCBO's.
These sockets will be feeding either of the following:
1: 8 x engravers (6W each)
2: 8 x craft irons (240W each)
3: 1 x 1/5HP airbrush compressor (unknown power consumption in W, but wouldn't think its alot.)
Personally, i can't see any obvious problems as there are fuses and RCBO's in place to take care of overcurrents and faults to earth, but then i have never had such a task presented to me, it just sounds like bodge way round, like a giant extension lead.
If anybody has got any ideas, please post them here? Obviously, the client would like to keep cost to a minimum.
I have emailed certification bodies but none of them have replied.
Many thanks All.

Re: Mobile Workbench Power
Assuming your 1/5HP motor means one fifth of a horespower then you would be comfortably within 13A.
