    Default fan isolator help !!

Hi all hope some1 can help. Recently had a problem with a bathroom extractor fan which was (i thought) isolated by a fused connection unit, when i removed the fuse not only did the fan go off but so did the bathroom light (flat with no window in bathroom so now in darkness). The fused connection unit has 3 twin & earths (one is connected to load side) the light pendant has 4 twin & earths and a 3 core into it, the pull switch has 1 twin & earth and the fan has a 3 core & earth to it. So heres my question is there any way (without replacing all the cables) that the fan ONLY can be isolated by the fused connection unit ?? The pull switch turns the light and fan on and off (fan has an overun)

    Default Fan isolator

Sounds like the answer is no, you cannot switch off only the fan from the spur unit. You need to instal a triple pole fan isolator adjacent to the fan if this is possible and not in an incorrect bathroom zone.
