advice please

hi i am currently in full time employment as an electronics service engineer.i have got a hnc in electrical/electronic engineering and ive also passed the 16th edition regs.(although i know its now the 17th edition i would have to pass) im looking at a change of career.im currently looking at my options on becoming qualified as an electrician.im not sure if my hnc would be of any relevance.ive been looking at the home study courses advertised on the net and would prefer to go down this route as ive already done 5 yrs in college and dont particularly want to go back there.are any of the home study courses worthwhile or is college the only way.has anyone gone down the home study route themselves if so which are the best courses any advice would be greatly appreciated
