flashing energy saving light fittings
I have fitted two light fittings, switched via two way switches.
Earthing etc is fine.
Both lamps in fittings are PLD compact 18W 840 G24q-2 4pin.
Problem: when switched off both lamps flash intermittantly!
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: flashing energy saving light fittings
This "flashing" from energy saving bulbs is very common on two way switching.
It is caused by induced current within the strappers. and a voltage build up within the bulb capacitor, when this reaches around 40V it discharges trying to light the bulb, causing it to flash.
You can fit a snubber which discharges the current to earth, but if you have an RCD protected circuit, it will trip.
The other way to solve the problem is to fit a tungsten bulb.
Hope this helps
