positioning of consumer units
my sons council house has the main consumer unit fitted approx 45 cm from the kitchen sink and taps on a level with the draining board. is this in line with the regs and i dont believe this can be safe

Any electrical equipment must be IP rated for the position it is fitted in. Your sons installation would not conform in my opinion.Regards Jimbo.

its not the best idea but as long as its 300mm 30cm away it is ok thats the regs
