PART P NOTIFICATION
Hi
I am in the process of setting up my own electrical contracting business and i was wondering how you get round notifying work for Part P whilst the application goes through for a competent persons scheme.
Obviuously i could notify building control directly however the cost of this is astronomical.
Thanks
Paul

Re: PART P NOTIFICATION
Old post but for anyone in a similar position you will need a building control notice prior to doing the work, if you can't find suitable paying jobs that will cover it, my suggestion is use a friends or your house and accept that when you have part p you will soon recover the outlay

Re: PART P NOTIFICATION
Hi Paul,
Speak to the Local Authority your self. If it's anyhting like my local council they will only be too happy to let you do the work so long as they can see a BS7671 test certificate at the end. Oh by the way, that's if the work if "notifiable". The three local councils in my area have not charged me or my clients a penny for my work. They haven't a clue any way!
