Hi There,

I have just been asked about converting existing downlights in an office passage to emergency lights. now the obvious thing is to install the usual type bulkhead non maintained or recessed type... however I see you can get conversion packs for GU10 type holders but they are specified for 11w and 13w CFL lamps but of course the cfl lamps are longer than the normal gu10 bulb so the aesthetically pleasing look is lost. I then thought about a UPS. Is there any reason out there that a UPS can’t be used for emergency lighting? I have checked the regs 560.6.11 and there appears to be no mention of not being allowed to have lights on UPS. Are there any other views out there and any reason why a UPS can’t be used?

Regards
H
