Primary supply characteristics
Hi everyone.
I am trying to be registered with NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme.
I have one job ready, and on the second job I can not find main supplier fuse, also I have tried to contact EDF ( the supplier ) - it was just waste of time. Could anyone tell me , where should I get information from to fill Characteristics of primary supply field on the second page of DEIC ?
MAny thanx

Re: Primary supply characteristics
Hi.
When you say you cant find the suppliers fuse....do you actually mean you cant find the intake position??? or that there are no markings on the fuse/carrier???
Bit more info.
Cheers

Re: Primary supply characteristics
You are right, I could not find the location of the fuse . This is 4 storey house with 4-5 flats , and the customer just bought one of the flat, I have checked the flat thoroughly and didn't find main fuse or electric meter either.
Cheers.

Re: Primary supply characteristics
Hi.
More than likely there will be a main intake position in a communal area on the ground floor/basement somewhere. From here then I would say there will be individual sub-mains to each of the flats each with their own switchfuses.
You really need to find this as it's an important part of the installation and no work should be carried out without checking this first.
Depending on the amount of work you have done you will need to include details of the overcurrent device for the sub-main and also test results for it aswell on your test form.

Re: Primary supply characteristics
As Ohmslaw say's it'll be in the basement or under the stairs or right outside the flat on the landing if these are not flats in a converted house.
If it's a converted property bet it's in one of the ground floor flats & other flats are fed via subs from there
