Re: Newbie...looking for career change
done a bit of research into these fast track courses and other organisations offering training and read alot of horror stories about students not getting jobs and the courses are rubbish. Its alot of money to part with and want to make sure im on the right path. Looked into doing the NVQs with my local college but they say i have to be working to be accepted onto the course so bit stuck on what to do really. lol.

Re: Newbie...looking for career change
I dont think fast rack courses are the problem, but some of the training providers are less than scrupulous
You are hitting the same problem as many people - there is a consensus that says these fast track courses are offering a back door into the industry - but you are finding that unless you are a spotty 16yr old, there isnt a front door
Many people go on from these courses into gainfull employment, and many will end up self-employed - but picking the right training provider offering the most appropriate suite of qualifiactions is essential
