Afternoon!
Afternoon Sparks!
Just a few words of introduction as I have joined your forum community today.
My name is Zak, 29 years of age and was born, and still live(!) in Croydon, South London.
Academically I have GCSE’s and A-levels. Went on to do a degree in Geology at Imperial College, London.
Back in 1995, after working in lots of different jobs (from nightclub doorman to tax advisor!), I wanted to change career and began my Sparks training in ernest.
I passed my C&G Level 2 in 2007.
I then jumped onto an HNC in Building Services Engineering which took 2 years to complete (1 day a week in college).
I have just enrolled at college again to do my C&G Level 3. 1 year to complete, 2 evenings a week.
In 6 months time or so I plan to start my NVQ3 in Electrical Installation so that hopefully I complete both courses (C&G level 3 and NVQ3) about the same time and can then successfully apply to the JIB to be regarded to qualified “Electrician” status.
On-the-tools experience ~ 1 year building Data-Centres (main contractor Skanska) – lot of metal munching!! ~ 6 months private work installing new low energy LED lights into schools / warehouses and shops / offices etc. No domestic experience as yet.
Look fwd to looking around and reading up on a few things here.
Cheers.
